HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL! I had the urge to blog and sum up my spectacular 2014.
It is a year filled with precious memories and milestones for me.
Jan - Feb
Done with my FYP and final paper in polytechnic.
The hardest part of polytechnic life (FYP) came to an end and I finished my last exam as well. I'm thankful towards my lecturer who guided us through the entire FYP and everyone of us in the group scored A (one of them even scored a Distinction). My final exam was on a module called 'Law and Ethics', I have no interest in it honestly but I tried my best to study as much as I can one day before the paper. To my surprise, I got a Distinction for it. I don't even know how and why because I slacked right after my FYP presentation ended on a Thursday and my paper was on the following Monday. Thank God for my first ever Distinction in polytechnic life (Sounds pathetic LOL but it's really a milestone for me HAHAHA)
I could have gotten a GPA of 4 but we screwed up one module's presentation and the lecturers asked really weird questions to tackle us. We were so angry and cursing nonstop right after but still thankful we didn't flunk it. Never did I imagine I'd get 3.9 GPA because throughout my polytechnic life my GPA were always around 3.2, the highest would be 3.5 only. This is a great way to end my school life. The only regret I have is that I wish I did better in my previous projects and examinations so my cumulative GPA wouldn't be so low. Nonetheless, I'm truly grateful. Thank you to everyone who made my polytechnic life so awesome and fun.
Feb - Mar
IT show
End of Feb, I started working at the IT show with my best friend. It was my first time working there and we had lots of fun together! I missed working with her and laughing together like some crazy idiots haha! If given a chance, I would totally work with her again!!! ♥
March - May
Bro's wedding
Attended my bro's ROM on March 3. The weather was perfect on that day, the venue was beautifully decorated and the lunch buffet was a spread too! I still remembered I tried all the desserts, how greedy can I get. My plate had like almost 20 desserts I think. HAHAHAHA!
I'm so happy for my brother who found his eternal love, here's wishing him a blissful marriage!
Working at Samsung
After that, I got introduced to work at Samsung to promote S5. I worked on the weekends for a month and it was full of ups and downs for me but nonetheless, I made some new friends and gained more confidence when talking with strangers. It was a cool once-in-a-lifetime sales job I've done. This would probably be the last time I will work in such industry, haha!
Rushing portfolio, Getting a full-time job
Graduation
On 23 May 2014, I officially graduated and bid farewell to my favourite SP!!!!! It was a memorable day wearing a heavy graduation robe and going up on stage to receive my diploma certificate. Thank you to all who attended my graduation and took photo with me!
Jun - Aug
I started working on June 2 at Yummypin and it has already been 7 months. I'm thankful to have an understanding boss and friendly colleagues. Working life has its own obstacles and it's not easy for me to overcome them sometimes. Even though I may feel stressed and want to give up, a part of me will always think of the bright side just like the quote below. “No matter how heavy the challenges we face in our life, embrace optimism, perseverance, tenacity and courage. Never lose faith and hope and a generous heart who live and breathes with a timeless love.” - Angelica Hopes
This was the trip that I was waiting for ever since the start of 2014. It's my first time travelling to Australia! I went there for 2 weeks to attend my brother's graduation and explored Brisbane/Gold coast! The cooling weather made the trip even better. We ate a lot of asian and Aussie food, explored Mount Tamborine and Koala Park Sanctuary, played at the Movie World, chilled at cafes, and so much more. The 2 weeks felt really short and I wished I could be there for 2 months instead. Hahaha! Too many photos to upload so I only chose a few. It was a fruitful experience travelling with my family. We are so proud of our brother! Congratulations once again!
Sep - Nov
Getting lucky
2014 has been a lucky year for me, not just in September, but in other months as well. I can't believe I won quite a few online giveaway contests. I have never really won anything the past few years so it felt really special and I hope to be even luckier this year! HAHA
Surgery
On Oct 9, I went for a minor surgery for the first time. I can't elaborate much about it, but it was a scary experience because I'm afraid of going to the hospital, let alone undergo a surgery. Fortunately, I didn't have to be hospitalised as it was a fast one. My wound has fully recovered 1 month later. Thank God!
Launch party
Yummypin held a launch party on Oct 24 and it was a blast! We had mouthwatering food from our participating merchants, awesome music from Pastelpower and great company throughout the night.
This is my 2nd time to USS Halloween.
The first time I went was in 2012, we only managed to go into one haunted house and played the cylon rollercoaster. I was so timid and closed my eyes throughout in the haunted house. It has been like this whenever I stepped into a haunted house since young. I just can't open my eyes because I was too scared, but that is really a waste of money because I didn't even see anything!
So I decided to make the most out of this halloween, I changed. I watched make up tutorial videos of how people transformed themselves into zombies/monsters/ghosts. My bestie also told me to open my eyes throughout and laugh if the scarers try to scare us. I said okay and I DID IT!!! It was so fun observing all the different scarers and haunted zones. They were decorated so well and some scarers were really funny which made our day! We managed to complete 4 haunted houses except for the last one and we watched a show too. It was really shiok! I can't wait to go for the Sentosa Spooktacular this year because I've overcome my fears. Wooooooo!
Dec
Christmas at Gardens by the bay
Celebrated Christmas in advance with my mom, aunt and cousin. It's my first time going into the Flower Dome and Cloud Forest although I've been to Gardens by the bay twice. So worth it to pay and go there during festive seasons because the decorations will make you go "WOWWW".
BTT
At the end of 2013, I wrote my new year resolutions which included getting my driving license by 2014. Nonetheless, I was too busy to apply for that but I've taken my first step! I PASSED MY BTT 2 DAYS BEFORE THE END OF 2014 HAHAHA! I shall make this new year resolution come true on 2015. Wish me luck!
Lastly, I ended 2014 at the SG50 Countdown party. It felt like NDP because it was held at the floating platform haha. I was quite upset that my seat was really far from the stage but we weren't the worst. The main highlight of the party was Stefanie Sun and BIG BANG, everyone was so high right after the fireworks as we called out to Big Bang. If I'm not wrong, they sang about 10 songs and it was so worth it to listen to them live! This was my first ever "concert" and I got high until my spine hurt all night afterwards. Nonetheless, I really enjoyed myself to the fullest and it felt awesome to start 2015 with BIG BANG in front of my eyes!
2014 has been extremely fun and crazy and I never expect it to end so quickly. It's a very sad year for Korea and Malaysia though. :'( I hope for the best in 2015 with everyone being happy, healthy and wealthy!
Happy new year, everyone! If you managed to read until here, you're DAEBAK! |
